As suggested by the name and the local legends (Sthala Purana), there are many instances even today where devotees, after offering prayers and vows here, have been blessed with children. According to village elders and stone inscriptions, this temple was built over a century ago by the respected Konibailu Venkashetty, in gratitude for being blessed with a child after praying to Lord Shri Santana Gopala Krishna.

The Santhana Gopalakrishna Temple was established by Sri Venka Shetty Konibailu. Blessed with a baby boy after praying to Lord Shri Krishna, he constructed this temple as an act of profound gratitude and devotion.
After being managed by the Konibailu family for decades, Sri Venka Shetty’s son, Sri Chikkayya Shetty, formally handed over the administration to the Malabar Devaswom Board to ensure its continued growth and service to devotees.
On 22nd April 1999, the temple witnessed its first Brahmakalasha, a sacred ceremony marking a major spiritual milestone and reaffirming the temple's sanctity.
A Jeernoddhara Committee was formed in 2019. Following years of dedicated restoration work, the renovation was completed, and the Brahmakalasha ceremony was conducted in February 2023, restoring the temple's glory for future generations.
